INTERTRADE GROUP announce “UNSCENT Glove Lovers” the capsule exhibition at Le Grand Musée du Parfum in Paris, from August 29 to October 15, 2017

Intertrade Group announces a capsule exhibition of UNSCENT Glove Lovers, to be held at Le Grand Musée du Parfum in Paris, in collaboration with THOMASINE Barnekow. Under its cultural activity UNSCENT, it represents the communication platform of the Group, creating unique events to celebrate the olfactive aspects of Art Perfumery.
After Milan and Florence, the Parisian edition of UNSCENT Glove Lovers, Petites histories et grands secrets des Maîtres Gantiers et Parfumeurs, will feature a curated selection of Thomasine’s spectacular gloves alongside an edit of Intertrade’s high-end artistic perfumes, celebrating the little known relationship between the worlds of gloves and fragrances, a “love story” which began in the 1500s.
Fadelli explains, “In the Middle Ages Grasse, today the world’s uncontested capital of perfume, specialised in leather tanning artisanal production. After several weeks of use, however, the leather smelled badly, so Gallimard, a Grasse tanner, came up with the idea of scented leather gloves and offered a pair to Catherine de Medici, who was enthralled with his gift. The concept then spread through the Royal Court and high society, and the seventeenth century became the pinnacle for glover perfumers.”
Fadelli adds, “In 1656, Maîtres Parfumeurs et Gantiers, the guild of glove and perfume-makers was established, representing one of the first important perfume trade associations and surely part of the reason why scented gloves then became all the rage. Scented gloves continued their popularity under Louis XIV and Louis XV as the glove makers discovered ways to infuse leather with different scents during the tanning process.”
UNSCENT Glove Lovers combines the company’s remarkable artistic fragrance selection with Thomasine’s unconventional gloves as a tribute to the successful seventeenth century partnership and explores modern ideas formed from worlds of fashion, accessories and perfumery.
Opened on December 22, 2016, on Paris’s Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Le Grand Musée du Parfum is a world of sensory experience, emotion, and enjoyment, offering an original, educational, entertaining, and immersive experience to help visitors understand the world of perfume and unravel its many mysteries.
The UNSCENT Glove Lovers Paris exhibition is scheduled to run at the Le Grand Musée du Parfum for 6 weeks, overlapping with both the 9th annual Les Rives de la Beauté and Paris Fashion Week events.

About Thomasine

Swedish glove couturière Thomasine Barnekow is a graduate of the Eindhoven Design Academy in the Netherlands, where she obtained a degree in conceptual product design with specialisation in textiles and accessories. For ten years, she has developed and renewed the glove making’s venerable but almost forgotten art. Thomasine gloves boast craftsmanship at the highest level, combined with bold artistic exploration in colour and form, breaking down the boundary between fashion and art. She divides her life between Sinclairsholm, her family’s estate in Skåne, and the Marais district of Paris.

UNSCENT “Fragrance is Who You Are” offers the unique opportunity to experience amazing fragrances in a bold, surprising way. Combining Intertrade’s artistic fragrance and beauty selection with a modern, visual experience, the products are set against a back-drop of a provocative photo-art installation, consisting of immersive video projections and portraits.
UNSCENT ‘Fragrance is Who You Are’ lets visitors witness both how connected individuals are to fragrances, and how much a fragrance can be part of an individual. Celso Fadelli, President and Fragrance Curator explains, “is special artistic installation allows participants to feel at firsthand how fragrances are fundamental to our identities – to who we are, to who you are.”
UNSCENT ‘Fragrance is Who You Are’ was born from Intertrade’s recent collaboration with world renowned Dutch artist Toshy, whose expressive and engaging storytelling art and freestyle hand script portraits and images caught the attention of contemporary art experts and enthusiasts around the world.
Fadelli adds, “Perfume is part of an individual’s identity; it influences how people see us and what we are reminded of. Fragrance depicts our personality, it defines who we are and attracts us. Intertrade Group announces two presences at Pitti Uomo 2017 in Florence from June 13 to 16, 2017, with special showcases Fragrance Selection in AVERY Perfume Decanters and UNSCENT Glove Lovers

Intertrade Group announces today a double presence at the upcoming Pitti Uomo 2017 in Florence. The company will be present in two areas at Pitti Uomo; in the Pitti Uomo’s Fortezza (Padiglione Centrale, lower floor), a selection of its latest portfolio of artistic fragrances poured into AVERY Perfume Decanters; and “UNSCENT Glove Lovers’ second destination of the itinerant exhibition in the section ‘MAKE, The New Makers”.

Intertrade will feature a special surprise selection of its successful art fragrances and its recently launched hand-blown design glass AVERY Perfume Decanters. The decanters, ideated by Intertrade President and Fragrance Curator Celso Fadelli and designed by Matteo Cibic, were launched during Milan Design Week/Salone del Mobile 2017, where Intertrade participated with a Fuorisalone collaboration.

An edited version of Intertrade’s UNSCENT Glove Lovers exhibition will be present at MAKE, Pitti Immagine 
relaunched section that maximizes the rediscovery of artisanal production. Strategically showcased for the first time in the Sala della Ronda, a new generation of craft people from around the world will be present at MAKE with their sophisticated pieces that are specially made but still in step with modern time.

UNSCENT Glove Lovers recently showed at the AVERY PERFUME GALLERY in the Excelsior Milan, the exhibition connected perfumery and leather gloves for the very time. UNSCENT Glove Lovers allows visitors to take a closer look at one of the first history’s most interesting chapters of perfumes, where fine perfumery met leather glove production in southern France.

The exhibit will travel afterwards to other international destinations to be announced later in the year.

Combining fragrance, marble, flowers and light: Intertrade Group joins a special 360 degree sensory collaboration with Bloc Studios during the Fuorisalone of the Salone del Mobile in Milan from April 4 to April 9, 2017

Intertrade Group announces today its upcoming collaboration with Bloc Studios, an Italian brand whose aim is to transform natural stone into thoughtful everyday objects. Sharing a similar philosophy to Bloc Studios who believes that every single marble bloc(k) conceals a story, Intertrade’s inspiration to support Bloc Studio’s installation with a touch of fragrance at Fuorisalone resonates with the company’s own credo: every encounter with scent is a personal journey and artistic perfumery is a unique, multi-sensorial and olfactory experience.

Intertrade enlightens through bespoke fragrances that boast sophisticated packaging and merchandising, high in design quality and parameters. Bloc studios celebrates the natural design diversity of Carrara marble by creating objects that are sincere to modern form and function. In occasion of the launch of Jamil, soOud installs a sensory exploration that plays on the brand’s refined colour palatte and iconic cap. The iconic cap, half cut, recalls the sloping points of modern buildings in the Middle East. Available for the first time in a 100ml flacon which shades from mirrored and semi-transparent silver to shiny black. Intertrade Group presents: URBAN SCENT GARDEN. A secret and unexpected garden is to be created in the centre of Milan.
The vibrant Porta Nuova district, among glass and greenery, is the setting for the sixth edition of UNSCENT, the event that focuses on the best of avant-garde and niche perfumery. A fixed appointment with Intertrade Group. UNSCENT is a project devised and developed by Celso Fadelli, President and Fragrance Curator of Intertrade Group.
UNSCENT proposes a powerful and colourful nature that overflows from cement and glass. A large urban greenhouse in which to explore flowers in continual blossom, artificial plants. In an ambiguity between natural and artificial, between true and false, where perfume alone, invisible, turns out to be real. The space is inspired by the wide and poetic imagination of the work entitled “Natura Motion” by the artist Stefano Scheda, who has continually worked on the poetics of outside/inside. A field of crevices and cement overflowing with coloured flowers, memories of the 2012 earthquake. At the centre of the exhibition space a large greenhouse that becomes a place of exploration. A large mirrored parallelepiped blends perfumes and flowers, in reflections nourished by the presence of visitors in a scenic floral and olfactory mechanism.

Many guests of honour will be present:Sheikh Majed Al Sabah, Danielle Ryan, Niclas and Christine Lydeen, Giovanni Castelli and Antonio Zuddas, Bruno Truchon-Bartès and many others.

AVERY Perfume Gallery, the ultimate destination for scent connoisseurs, opened its corner at Tsum in Moscow during the Vogue Fashion Night Out last week. In the heart of the historic Russian department store, AVERY’s corner will be showcasing a selection of the most refined brands from Intertrade Group.
The store (founded in 1908) is in a six-story historical Gothic Revival style building on Petrovka Street at Theatre Square (Teatralnaya Square) in the Tverskoy District of central Moscow. Tsum is one of the most fashionable and trendy places in the city, and the largest fashion department store in Eastern Europe. It carries more than 1000 brands of fashionable apparel, perfumery and jewelry, as well as “Tsum Globus Gourmet” gastronome, a fusion restaurant, a cigar room, a café, and a champagne bar.

The magic of perfumery becomes an enchanted setting in the extraordinary context of Stazione Leopolda in Florence for Pitti Fragranze 2015 from 11 to 13 September. UNSCENT LAND is a small olfactory lunar park with scenic machinery and experiences that take visitors on an exploration of the experimental notes of international creators and noses.
UNSCENT LAND thus continues the experimental itinerary of UNSCENT, the olfactory niche platform of Intertrade Group, after its inventions at shows in Milan, Florence, London, Johannesburg and Bucharest. The project is devised and curated by Celso Fadelli, President and Fragrance Curator of Intertrade Group.

A Lab On Fire is a limited-production fragrance house shrouded in the mystery and genius of brilliant collaborations with the brightest talents in the perfume industry. Each contemporary fragrance is designed by a famous nose with the highest quality and freshness, evoking ingenuity and refinement. Package designs emphasize simplicity with an industrial chic aesthetic. No one knows exactly how A Lab On Fire operates, and it is a mystery how Carlos Kusubayashi, the brain behind the label operates. His identity is a total enigma A creative soul and citizen of the world, Carlos Kusubayashi was born in Sao Paulo and raised in Japan. He experimented in a variety of fields, including working in a car factory, apprenticing for a master kyoji who mounts calligraphy, and restoring Asian art in Paris. Kusubayashi’s interests eventually led him to Brooklyn where he worked for Japanese sculptor and scent designer Nobi Shioya as a studio assistant until 2009. Carlos had not much interest in developing new fragrances for S-Perfume but instead decided to develop a fragrance based on his own vision, launching his first perfume in 2011. From 2015 A Lab on Fire, as Carlos desires to grow internationally and thanks to his friendship with Celso Fadelli, decided to partner with Intertrade Group for the brand’s development. Essential and minimal designs are paired with a provocative message to capture the essence of the brand and it’s creator, emphasizing the complexity of the scent over the personality of the creator himself.

THE FRAGRANCES
L1: the first fragrance to be launched, it combines power in the base notes permeated with ingredients that are rare and difficult to find on the market, so as to create a blend that is complex, unique and particularly intriguing. L1 contains within it the strength of leather, the adrenaline of pepper, the efficacy of musk, the determination of tobacco, with a light touch of arrogance in the vetiver. A perfume that exudes emotions and strong sensations.
L2: represents the quintessential spirit of adventure of Automobili Lamborghini. With crisp notes based on lemon, mandarin and pink pepper, enriched by a more spicy heart, notes of fern, combined with birch, with nutmeg and with lavender. Elegance, the maximum expression of identity for those with a passion for challenges on and off piste.
L3: immediately striking for its spicy head notes based on saffron, lavender and bergamot. Roads has an in-store installation showcasing Roads Fragrances and allowing customers to explore the collection of 10 fragrances.
Roads is a school of thought, a creative curation of sensory experiences meant to enhance and deepen cultural and intellectual understanding through the concept of storytelling. Danielle Ryan’s quest, as Ceo and Creative Director, was to invent a brand that was not limited by its own definition, but instead could follow customers’ desires, bringing together art, ideas, people, places, and fragrances. Selfridges has taken note of this young company, identifying Roads as a notable example of a true multi-channel business success story. On the next Milan Design Week, a worldwide preview will take place on the 13th of April at 7 pm. Both noses and eyes will feel emotional about the one and only perfume collection bearing the signature of Andrée Putman that blends design and olfactory sensations. On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Andrée Putman’s first perfume, five new fragrances as a result of a collaboration started in 2001 between Celso Fadelli and Madame Putman will be presented. In the Milanese headquarters location of Intertrade Group, among the magical atmospheres enhanced by the courtyards and the gardens of Palazzo Durini, an artistic installation will reveal the collection at the presence of a very special guest: Olivia Putman.
Sobriety, essentiality, and elegance characterize the style of Andreé Putman, one of the world’s most renowned interior designers. Her notable contributions to the design world history include: the Morgans Hotel in New York, the interior design of the Concorde for Air France, and many luxury houses and boutique interiors, just to mentioned a few: Karl Lagerfeld, Azzedine Alaïa, Thierry Mugler, Yves Saint Laurent, and Guerlain. The encounter between Andrée Putman and perfumery became a dream come true as she wished for a very long time to impulse her style to the perfume universe. The fragrance was created with the precious complicity of the renowned nose Olivia Giacobetti. The idea of her fragrance became clear when designing the newly opened Pershing Hall Hotel in Paris and its vertical garden that spreads over the patio. Andrée wanted a scent inspired by the Southeast Asian rainforest. Madame Putman met Celso Fadelli, President and Fragrance Curator of Intertrade Group, for the production of the perfume to be introduced in the most exclusive stores worldwide. By the end of 2001 the launch of Préparation Parfumeé was ready: a modern, refined, fresh, flowery/spicy fragrance, designed for both men and women as Andrée truly desired. Driftwood blends with notes of grey pepper, coriander leaf, and water lily in exquisite composition made from rare high-quality raw materials.
In 2007, Andrée’s daughter Olivia took the full reins of Studio Putman Paris, following her mother’s footsteps and desires. The success of the fragrance made Olivia Putman taking an idea into consideration, that one day it may have become a collection of perfumes. One of Andrée’s wish was to enhance the original Préparation Parfumée with a collection of fragrances that evoke moments of her personal memories. Olivia then decided to partner with Intertrade Group for the development of a real collection of fragrances and let the dream begin.
Today, following the success of the first fragrance, and to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Préparation Parfumée, Intertrade Group is very proud to present the full collection named Préparation Parfumée Andrée Putman.
Olivia Putman has worked with a team of specialists in order to bring to reality this project. The inspiration of the packaging comes from the original one, a sober and elegant flacon whose style has been carefully maintained. The respectful and thoughtful restyle was curated by Agenzia del Contemporaneo (creative solutions&design agency) guided by Cristiano Seganfreddo (Vice President and Creative Director di Intertrade Group) and Alessio Avventuroso (Design Director of Intertrade Group). The transparent crystal flacon with a navy-blue cap, is decorated by an elegant blue label, that embraces it completely, leaving just a small rounded hole from where is visible the Andréé Putman signature that arises from the deepness of the bottle.

On Friday night at Palazzo Durini (at number 24) home to Intertrade’s new headquarters in Milan, was held a private dinner to pay omage to Unscent, the event dedicated to perfumery with the capital P, on show from the 26th to the 29th of March in the Avery Perfume Gallery shop at Excelsior. The luxurious compound was completely furnished especially for the event to reflect the style and her own home of bohemian luxury: retro-style chairs, a tableau vivant as a buffet, with decorated vintage rugs and rows upon rows of candles to trace the way from the door to the private flowering garden and from the garden to the inside of the three-floor house. The guest list included Intertrade top clients and partners from all over the world, journalists from WWD, Elle, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, L’Officiel, Huffington Post, Ad, Vogue (to name a few) designers such as Mario Salvucci, artists, socialite such as Helen Nonini, entepreneurs such as Lorenzo Bonotto and some of the creators part of Intertrade selection of brands such as: Christine and Niclas Lydeen from Agonist, Diane Pernet, Antonio Zuddas from Blood Concept and sheik Majed Al-Sabah from TFK-The Fragrance Kitchen.

From 26 to 29 March, a beauty programme will be taking place devoted to the discovery of essences within the Avery Perfume Gallery space at Excelsior in Milan. Now in its fifth edition this year, after Florence, Bucharest, Johannesburg and London, UNSCENT returns with a itinerary inside the store, assisted by a visual set-up created especially for each brand, where the spectator is guided in the discovery of olfactory and visual images. Tableaux vivants, site-specific installations that make it possible to preview the new fragrances of each maison, large totems from which to smell various perfumes, once again by way of special glass boules, and finally the “Fashion Circus” photographic exhibition of Commesso Fotografo, the creative duo formed by Francesco De Luca and Laura Bolzan.
UNSCENT is a project devised and developed by Celso Fadelli and Cristiano Seganfreddo. “Bringing essence back to the centre of the world of perfumery has been greeted by an enthusiasm that has now spread throughout the world. We see this from the invitations we receive every week to take the show to other countries. UNSCENT as an innovative olfactory gallery also finds space and a special welcome in the Avery Perfume Gallery BtoBC space inside the Excelsior contemporary universe. With a clear message, that we have broken the pattern and resolved the dilemma: perfumery can no longer be qualified with words like ‘art’, ‘niche’ or ‘d’auteur’. There is only one kind of Perfumery (with a capital P): that which has quality essences, talent and the passion to make them loved”. The selection of brands presented at Unscent 2015 consist of: Acqua di Stresa, perfumes of the Italian Lakes, Agonist, with its Scandinavian essences created in haute couture version with artistic glass bottles, Annemarie Börlind and her natural skin care products, Azagury, the exclusive fragrances of the stylist adored by Lady D which return in a new version, Boadicea the Victorious, with its four latest “valorous” fragrances. Also Blood Concept, in new packaging and olfactory identity, Couto and its historic toothpaste formulation, Czech&Speake with its British twist, Diane Pernet Paris and her emotional notes represented also by four films directed by Mike Figgis which will be projected for the occasion, the cosmeceutical formulations of Ilâme with the new regenerating Amemasque mask, the mineral make up of Jane Iredale, L-Automobili Lamborghini, the Re Profumo collection enhanced by a new “Meraviglia” fragrance, and once again Roads, the lifestyle brand by Danielle Ryan. Lastly, the projects of Six Scents and Science for Peace, soOud and the atmospheres of the oriental world with a special edition of Ilham in a special pink gold bottle, the S-Perfume collection of the Japanese artist Nobi Shioya, Santa Eulalia and the bio candles of The Hype Noses. A LAB ON FIRE is a limited-production perfume house that collaborates with the brightest talents in the industry to create one-of-a-kind fragrances of the highest quality. Each scent is designed by a famous nose to be contemporary and refined and each package is aimed at emphasizing simplicity and an industrial chic attitude.
Wearing A LAB ON FIRE is about wrapping and plunging yourself in mystery and glamour, the signature style of Carlos Kusubayashi, its creator. With a highly secretive nature, no one knows how he operates and no one knows his identity. Born in São Paulo and brought up in Japan. He later moved to New York: while there, he met a sculptor, Nobi Shioya and went to work at his studio. Chariot is a sensational new fragrance – this rich scent blends middle eastern oudh with papyrus, patchouli, cedar and sandalwood. Kuwait’s Sheikh Majed Al-Sabah, the notable founder of fashion retail chain Villa Moda, is no stranger to the fashion and beauty world. Today the jury of FIFI d’OR, the famous prize organized by the Fragrance Foundation in France met for choosing the winners of the best perfumes in the market. The President is the French designer Jean Paul Gaultier, the Presidnet of this year’s FIFI jury, a special member of the jury is Diane Pernet, called by Monsieur Gaultier in person for her expertise in the field and the recent success of her perfume collection. The other illustrious participants are: Ali Madhavi, Pierre Hermé, Dorothée Gilbert, Laurent Korcia. The concept of the party, sponsored to launch a new independent magazine called “Influence Paris”, is Kinbaku-the japanese bondage that will be shown through a live performance by designer Romain Brau. The exclusivity of fragrances from Avery is now available in all Avery Perfume Gallery shops. The project, directed by the designer Alessio Avventuroso of Agenzia del Contemporaneo, traces a visual identity of the five perfumes in line with the Avery spaces using contemporary and refined visual codes. The collection of perfumes, devised by Celso Fadelli, has been created for niche perfumery enthusiasts and the five different olfactory itineraries have been unconsciously guided by customers of Avery London. Avery Perfume Collection pays homage to the sartorial tradition of the Intertrade perfumery team, in managing to recreate worlds of perfumes that do not yet exist, working with raw materials of highest value, original and avant-garde. A way of giving body to the desires of its most loyal customers, a new aesthetic achievement that enriches five new sensory itineraries.


THE FRAGRANCES


A as in Adorable
A fragrance with soft velvet notes. Slightly citrus thanks to the presence of lemon and lime, comforting for the presence of incense and black pepper, and ending in a base of white musk and vanilla.


V as in Vigorous
Capable of invigorating thanks to green and vibrant notes such as blackcurrant, peach and grapefruit to which are added the energy of heliotrope, jasmine and coriander enriched by a powerful base of patchouli, cedar wood and benzoin from Siam.


E as in Evocative
Elusive freshness of fruit such as strawberries and plums, accompanied by scented flowers such as iris, freesia, jasmine and rose which are enclosed within an intense final trail with a base of leather, tonka beans and cedar wood.


R as in Royal
A retro perfume of old-fashioned eau de cologne. Marine but decisive, a rich fragrance of sensations. With clean head notes such as mandarin, the marine accord which merges with peppermint, a heart of spicy notes with white sage, basil and oregano and a reassuring base of sandalwood, oak musk and fir balsam.


Y as in Young at Heart
Exuberant, elegant, but timeless. A joyful and intriguing fragrance with head notes such as saffron and coffee, mitigated by a large floral heart of rose petals, lily of the valley and geranium which lead to a deep woody base of finest agarwood, myrrh, sandalwood, guayacan wood and cedar wood.

Avery Perfume Gallery is a new dimension in niche perfumery and research created by Intertrade Group.
Opening in Excelsior, in the heart of Milan, is an experiment that is visual and conceptual, more than a retail experience.
A fully olfactory concept, introduced into a context of high aesthetic tension. A genuine Wunderkammer under the creative direction of Cristiano Seganfreddo, with Agenzia del Contemporaneo, of almost 200 meters, whose displays look out over the small Piazzetta Beccaria. The walls become curtains that recreate the atmosphere of a sublime Milanese residence in a kaleidoscopic surrounding. An opulence almost of times past though moderated by modern day changeability provided by the installations of the works by the great epoch-making artists Fluxus.

“We have created a space of timeless wonder. Free from mass-market conventions and logic. Majestic and bizarre in its own way. A game of beauty and of continual contamination with other arts, which looks at knowledge,” explains Cristiano Seganfreddo.


There are, in fact, continual references to the contemporary with a rotation of micro and macro installations, with artist videos of impressive scenic dimensions as well as outsize furnishings and drapes created with textiles manufactured by Bonotto. The perfumes will be sampled from special boules and personalized olfactory showcases. The space will also host a rich calendar of exhibitions and talks. There are four commercial areas, emphasized by changes of furnishings and curtains.

“A new concept is created in niche perfumery, where it is not the brand and packaging that dictate the choice,” explains Celso Fadelli, CEO of Intertrade Group, “as much as the sensibility and the quality of the offer and the play between well-known brands and discovery. All in extraordinary surroundings with a manic attention to the experience of the customer and the visitor.”

The new line-up of scents Diane Pernet Paris, after a full unveiling during the fashion week in the French capital, were taken to Antwerp last week for the 7th edition of ASVOFF, Pernet’s fashion film festival. Back in 2008 Diane created the ASVOFF, described as the first film festival in the context of fashion in film. This initiative grew turn into a success story and has already attracted names like Mike Figgis, Ellen Von Unwerth, Bruce Weber, Christopher Doyle, Bruce La Bruce, Adán Jodorowsky, David Lachapelle, Blancia Li, Jonathan Caouette, Park Chan-Wook, Sofia Sanchez & Mauro Mongiello and Tim Yip. This year’s Chairman of the Jury was the famous belgian designer Dries Van Noten. The film festival includes short films about fashion, style and cosmetics. There is also room for documentaries, installations and a serving Belgian talent, with films include Frederik Heyman, Michael Smits, Leonardo Van Dijl and Pierre Debusschere. UNSCENT 2014 – LOVE MAGIC POTIONS, the olfactory art project which was a huge successful event at the international fragrance fair, Pitti Fragranze, in Florence in September, presents the one-off love potions as a multi-sensory voyage of seduction that becomes a brand new experience, says Celso Fadelli, CEO of Intertrade Group. A unique project involving eight of the greatest international noses committed to finding the ultimate scent of love will make its debut in South Africa at SA Fashion Week A/W 15 in October (15-18). Conceptualized jointly by Fadelli and business partner, Cristiano Seganfreddo, the current project explores the fragrance of love and follows the success of the company’s signature conceptual UNSCENT installations: the special olfactory glass boules where all emotions of perfume come alive when you smell them.

The old style furnishings remind of an apothecary, vintage furnishings and frecoes make it a true masterpiece of interior design. Diane Pernet, the American journalist and blogger, has been the sensational special guest of this edition of Unscent. She presented a soft launch of the three perfumes she has created with Intertrade as well as a special preview of new short films from the ASVOFF festival dedicated to independent cinema, of which she is the founder and curator. One year ago, Madame Pernet met Celso Fadelli that proposed that she develop her own perfume collection. Diane was enthusiastic about it and they started working together with the Intertrade Team of master perfumers for several months, before finding the perfect combination of ingredients for each fragrance. A journey into sensations, atmospheres and Diane’s memories made this encounter of two true creative minds a new chapter in the history of perfumes.

To be honest captures the experience of stumbling upon an ancient church while walking trough the woods. There are notes of myrrh, black pepper, cedar wood, patchouli, vetyver, leather and amber. Desired instead is the pure reminiscent of an oriental garden as the mist rolls in. There are notes of clove, juniper, and nutmeg with a little musk accord in the air. Sensual, energetic and narcotic at the same time. In Pursuit of Magic, the third catching fragrance, creates a feeling as if you’ve entered a familiar yet parallel world with notes of refreshing citrus air that simultaneously invigorates and purifies you. Tart, clean, intense, restored and protected. A forth fragrance has yet to be developed as well as the package and the look and feel of all the perfumes. The unmistakable spirit of research in Blood Concept is achieved this year in the exploration of new vital saps present in the world of Mother Nature. The new fragrances are named XL(xylem) and PH (Phloem). Xylem, wood sap, carries nourishment from deep in the ground up to the leaves, with an ascendant movement that is rendered in the perfume by an upturned pyramid in which the deep woody notes are mixed immediately with the citrus coup de fouet that expresses the energy of photosynthesis. Ilham is the new fragrance by soOud: in Arabic it is the sound of the word whose corresponding meaning is “Inspiration”. A complex and intense olfactory pyramid, notable for such precious and unusual ingredients as saffron, grey amber, tree musk, the Indian spice Nagarmotha or the Malaysian essential oil Gujum. In soOud, the sensuality of oriental fragrances, profound, intriguing and passionate, typical of the Arab world, encounter a soul refined in its western manifacturing. Two precious raw materials conceal rare essences dedicated to the exploration of the senses, divided into two lines: Nektar, true high-concentration, rich, precious extracts, and Eau Fine, intense and delicate on the skin. An event to discover the olfactory and visual images of the most refined niche brands. All of this is UNSCENT, devised and developed by Celso Fadelli and Cristiano Seganfreddo that on February 21th, in the setting of Excelsior multistore in Milan, welcomed international guests, such as Diane Pernet and Jacques Azagury, perfume addicts and curious ones, to celebrate together the art of perfumery. People could savor the fragrances by way of special glass boules which contain the various perfumes.  This was a journey into perfumery that aims to unveil the fragrances through the fifth sense only, without concentrating on the vision of them. That’s the reason of calling it un-scent. Denying to establish something that is undefined,  enclosing emotions in a bottle, never stopping on the way to experimentation. This is what made Unscent successful once again. The exhibition will remain open until the end of April.

Discovering what we don’t see is the concept of an event that presents to the public, and enables it to learn more about, the international creators and brands in the haut de gamme perfumery sector. The itinerary around the store is guided by art installations where every single brand creates an olfactory and visual image. Tableaux vivants subdivided by trends and totems portraying the creative concepts will help in fascinating the public, thanks also to the possibility of savouring iconic fragrances of each maison for the very first time, by way of special glass boules containing the various perfumes, arranged on each totem. The installation begins on the ground floor and continues on other floors, each featuring visual compositions in which the perfumes become accessories in just the same way as a handbag or a pair of shoes, transformed into entirely new aspects of every male and female look. This season there’s the world debut launch of S-Perfume by the artist Nobi Shioya, a pop collection of six fragrances, L-Automobili Lamborghini, the perfume concept of the Supercar, in a limited edition of 999 pieces, the romantic Re Profumo, dedicated to the decadence of Venice, with a book by its creator Fulvio Fronzoni, as well as the complete collection of Roads, the luxury brand by Danielle Ryan. New fragrances also for Agonist, an avant-garde brand of world perfumery, with Solaris and for Acqua di Stresa and Blood Concept; the unveiling of the second perfume of the legendary brand Eight&Bob, the new lines of Azagury, as well as the premiere of Ilame, new, revolutionary Italian Skin-care. From Lake Maggiore with love.

A declaration of love celebrates the colours and the light of one of the iconic places of the Dolce Vita of yesteryear and today. This is the essence of Acqua di Stresa, the perfume of Lake Maggiore, that presents two new emotional frangrances evoking all the dreamy atmospheres of a typical Italian landscape during summer. Virens in Latin means verdant, but also means strong, energetic. Aqua Virens is the sun reflecting on the water, the arabesque of a motor boat speeding over the lake. Playful notes of fruit, flowers and wood, illuminated by the sweetness and bitterness of Rhubarb and by the green accents of Vetiver. UNSCENT and Roads: Intertrade Group invents a new way of communicating contemporary art perfumery
The closure of the eleventh Pitti Fragranze (13-15 September 2013) also marks the closure of the Unscent at Pitti Fragranze experience, brought to Florence after its first appearance in Milan.
The project devised by Celso Fadelli, with the artistic direction of Cristiano Seganfreddo, has succeeded in creating a thrilling new concept inside the Stazione Leopolda. A marine backdrop populated with large medusas, where the dense sculptural light has given a liquidity and depth to the visions of the best talents in international perfumery.

The Unscent vision was accompanied by the world preview of Roads, a new lifestyle brand created by Danielle Ryan. The combination of a surprising installation, which brought a real lorry in among the columns of Stazione Leopolda, and the extremely interesting personality of the brand’s founder, aroused great excitement and a growing interest among the international press and buyers, as well as beginning to spread the message of Roads throughout the world.

Among the important brand names in the Intertrade Group portfolio present at the event, many new products caught the interest of the professionals and enthusiasts in essence couture.

Sunday 24th March marked the end of the first edition of UNSCENT: Fragments of the emerging olfactory scene, an innovative art perfumery project-event that brought a new emotional concept, devised by Celso Fadelli, to the splendid surroundings of Milan’s Palazzo Morando and aroused interest among press and buyers from throughout the world. The first edition closed on a very positive note, both in terms of press interest as well as attendance figures. There were more than 500 visitors to this first edition, indicating the vitality of a sector that recorded a constantly increasing turnover, in complete contrast to the traditional perfumery sector.

Among the celebrity guests taking part in the event were Diane Pernet, who created a Video Olfactory Room where visitors could experience a sensory vision linked to an artistic fashion film construction, Tim Blanks, one of the leading fashion journalists and editor-at-large of Style.com, and also Danielle Ryan. All visitors – journalists and buyers – expressed enthusiasm for the innovative exhibition format of UNSCENT, which accompanied visitors on a multi-sensory art tour, widening their perceptive perceptions of perfume to other disciplines, expanding its artistic and qualitative value and its image. This exhibition method, developed by Celso Fadelli under the artistic direction of Cristiano Seganfreddo, enabled each of the perfume collections to showcase their own image and artistic value – a perfect blend of art and sensory communication with influences connecting fashion to perfume that is now being sought for exportation to other cities.

Some days… are more “beautiful” than others: one of these was 23 April, date of the last Jane Iredale Skin Care Makeup Convention at the Grand Hotel Majestic in Bologna.

The proceedings were introduced by Celso Fadelli, C.E.O. of Intertrade Europe, followed by the perfumer Fulvio Fronzoni who prepared the way for the real protagonist of the day: Jane Iredale! She told us her story and we were able to learn more about her with a deluge of interesting questions and curiosities.

INTERTRADE GROUP AT ELEMENTS IN NEW YORK

Intertrade Group is pleased to announce its participation in the third Elements Showcase, the event presenting a wide panorama in Art Perfumery, at Skylight West in New York City on January 30 – 31, 2012.
 Established as featuring the world’s best brands in the art of fragrance design, Elements has been heralded by fragrance insiders as the Fragrance Trade Show of America.

Host to the event, Celso Fadelli, perfume curator and Intertrade Europe Group CEO who will feature in “Artistic process and Collaboration” forum, including Chandler Burr and Rodrigo Flores-Roux among other panelists, and will present the important news from Andrea Maack Parfums and Six Scents.

Iceland-based visual artist and perfumer Andrea Maack, represented by Intertrade Europe, brings her collection of fragrances to the United States for the first time. In addition to the debut of  her first five Maack fragrances – Sharp, Smart, Dark, Silk, and Craft – the artist will present an art installation appointed  right for this occasion, and she will be available to discuss her visual and olfactory creations.

In addition to the prestigious 13 brands portfolio, the new collaboration between Six Scents and Intertrade Europe Group now extended to the US market will be presented to the American audience. Born from a unique vision of the world, Six Scents is goal is to create a new way for people to engage with fragrance through “creativity with a conscience.” Every year, Six Scents releases six fragrances that were created in partnership by six artists from around the world in collaboration with six renowned perfumers in order to raise awareness and create funding for a  deserving charity. For latest theme – from innocence to experience – six artists were invited to help translate memories of identity-forming experiences into perfumes. The final result of this project are six fragrances so appreciated to be awarded with the prestigious FiFi Award Fragrance of the Year – Indie Brand.

Intertrade Group will be participating this February (12 – 14th) at “Scoop International”, London’s newest International Exhibition, a wonderful fusion of fashion, accessories, art and of course fragrance. 
After last year’s successful presentation, this year we will be showcasing our complete UK portfolio which includes some of the most prestigious art perfumery brands: Andrée Putman, Blood Concept, Nasomatto, Nez à Nez, Profumi del Forte, Six Scents and The Hype Noses.
 We are excited to announce that we will be presenting for the first time new brands which will be launched into the UK market this year. Among them: Agonist, Andrea Maack Parfums and SoOud with “Le Nomade”. Agonist is a collection of six unisex fragrances, produced with 100% natural essences. The fragrances are inspired by the nordic climate and culture and are presented in exclusive artistic handmade glass bottles developed with Åsa Jungnelius of the multi-award-winning Kosta Boda. Agonist today represents the art fragrance expression of timeless beauty, created in tandem by renowned noses of haut perfumery in a formulation with rarest natural essences. 

The fragrances of Andrea Maack Parfums are the olfactory interpretation of an artistic and creative process. The maison was founded by the Icelandic artist Andrea Maack who has always had a special relationship with fashion. Her work incorporates elements of both graphic art and fashion design, using pencil and mixed media drawings. Inverting and questioning accepted rules and roles, Maack continually crisscrosses the border between art and consumerism using the inspiration of her exhibition pieces to create commercial but highly unconventional collections. The eau de parfums are five distinctive fragrances originally created for museum exhibitions, made out of the highest quality raw materials.

 A new chapter of success opens, with the introduction to the UK portfolio, for Boadicea the Victorious. These famous unisex perfumes, created through the inspiration of Michael Boadi, guru of art perfumery, are among the best-loved, and highly sought after by members of the international jet set such as Michelle Obama and Kate Moss. Setting off a buying rush and interminable waiting lists right from the launch, these refined perfumes are contained in exclusive bottles with pewter applications engraved with Celtic decor which led this fragrance collection to being awarded the New Design Award in Wallpaper Magazine.

 Perfume meets Jewelry, with le Nomade, Purse spray. SoOud offers an object the colour of Gold Champagne set with a real diamond or sapphire. The vaporiser is called Le Nomade and seems to have come out of a piece of a lost astrolabe. Le Nomade is an unusual, sophisticated and sensual piece of jewelry, its lines follow an entirely new technique. A format for travelling, for the night and its stars.

A great success was tributed to the new fragrances presented by Intertrade Group during Pitti Immagine Fragranze 10, the international event on art perfumery.

Located just across the road from the Contemporary Art Center, at no. 527 St Joseph Street, the shop invites the visitor through a wealth of objects and architectural elements that carry stories and memories, to discover the whole range of brands selected and launched worldwide by Intertrade Group: from Agonist to Blood Concept, to Boadicea the Victorious, Carthusia, Esteban, Nasomatto, Nez à Nez, Profumi del Forte, soOud, The Hype Noses, etc.
 The layout of this space is signed by the eclectic international designer Lilian Drissen who brought in a New Orleans mood the distinctive Avery metaphoric elements she designed for the British and the Italian shops: the little dressing tables, the mirrors, the sinks, the curtains, the hanging garden.

The Elements Showcase presented curated offerings in the field of fragrance design. The Elements Showcase is an innovator in its field–from its conceptualized space by Reddymade Design to its cutting-edge fragrance installations. Elements is pleased to have presented elite fragrance to industry insiders and to have connected designers with leading buyers and key media.

 David Pirrotta Brand Management showcased 21 Drops, a new line of therapeutic essential oils in candy-colored, travel-friendly packaging. Intertrade Group launched a new product for each of their brands in The Elements Showcase: Carthusia, Nez à Nez, The Hype Noses, Profumi del Forte, Esteban, and SoOud. Stephane Humbert Lucas, fragrance designer and creator of SoOud, was at Elements for a champagne launch event on Monday.

 The Elements Showcase is the definitive experience for emerging and established visionaries in the art of fragrance design. The third Showcase will premiere January 2012 in New York City.

A great success. That is the outcome of “Dining with Art Perfumery”, where the minds behind Andrea Maack Parfumes, Blood Concept and Six Scents presented to the press accredited at Pitti Fragranze 2011 the creative paths behind their works and joined the journalists for a light lunch that added conviviality to the fragrant conversation.

After the applauded introduction of Celso Fadelli, Ceo of Intertrade Europe and well known art perfume curator, Andrea Maack opened the event telling, through a video and her voice the complexity of the artistic path that brought her to develop her first fragrance based art installation called Smart, as a contraction of “smell art”. Smart was the start and now the Andrea Maack Parfums has six fragrances, six artworks literally translated into scents, each one bringing a distinctive message and unveiling unexpected sensations.
Then Giovanni Castelli and Antonio Zuddas introduced their Blood Concept: the flow of life and the history of humanity through the powerful metaphor of blood. From the primeval, animal instinct of 0, the first human blood group, the mark of our ancient hunting pulse; to A, telling the story of mankind trying to tame Nature to grow its own green and nourish its offspring to branch out; to B, the nomadic essence, the restless knowledge endeavor that pushed mankind to travel and discover; to AB, the artificial, the human creation, that synthesizes the building of arts and facts. 
A true art story was also told by Kaya Sorhaindo about Six Scents project. Six artists and designers are paired with six master perfumers to explore and uncover through their different languages a shared theme, the nature of childhood and the influence of adolescence on identity. Intimate memories evoked through scents to interpret the progression from innocence to experience. Exploring the stories from one to six, innocence begins to fade and rebellion, reality and mischief kick in. Each story is expressed through the visual and the olfactory progressions created together in a collaborative workflow and realized in numbered limited edition.

Art perfumes attracted a relentless flow of visitors from all over the world to Intertrade Group’s booth at TFWA 2011 in Cannes.
An increasing number of visitors (+9% vs last year) arrived from all over the world to Cannes to attend the duty free and travel retail premium event.
 Over 5.000 delegates reached the Palais des Festivals et des Congres to discover the world class news on luxury goods. This year theme “A brand new world” was introduced in the opening conference by Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the UN, Stephane Garelli, Professor at the International Institute for Management Development and Erik Juul-Mortensen, TFWA President, among others. 
Art perfumery attracted the attention of an unremitting flow of visitors who, from Nepal to Latvia, from Dubai to New Zeland, from Brazil to Denmark, reached Intertrade Group’s booth, where  Calso Fadelli, CEO and perfume curator, welcomed them and guided them, supported by his team, through the 12 collections presented. 
Along with the acclaimed scents of Boadicea The Victorious, Czech & Speake, Carthusia, Nasomatto, Nez à Nez, Profumi del Forte, soOud, the Hype Noses the new creations from Agonist, Andrea Maack Parfums, Blood Concept and Six Scents offered a unique vision of what “a brand new world” in luxury could be: research, authenticity, best available raw materials, environmental and social awareness, creativity, craftsmanship. All that makes art, not fads.
